A MAN has been tagged by a court after he took drugs while behind the wheel of a car.

John Gerard Gallagher, 40, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to two charges.

He admitted that he had Diamorphine in his possession at Balgraybank Street on May 14.

He also plead guilty to driving a car while unfit to drive through drink and drugs. His defence agent, however, pointed out that he did not move the vehicle but had left the engine running.

Gallagher, of Gorbals Street, was tagged for three months and banned from driving for two years. He will also be under supervision for a year and complete 80 hours of unpaid work.
