A Glasgow nightclub has sparked a debate among its customers after imposing strict rules on their Halloween costumes.

SWG3 Studio Warehouse on Eastvale Place in the west end took to social media to tell customers that they will be refused entry if they chose to "black up" or use "blackface".

Club management added that they had "no interest" in debating the matter.

Glasgow Times:

Customers have continued to share their views with some agreeing with the move, while others described it as political correctness "gone mad".

Alison Rennie commented: "Shouldn't matter what you look like or wear... if you're an a***h*** you don't get in! If you're an a***h*** you get papped out!"

John Brown added: "Make them wash it off instead of all this. Attention seeking of the highest order."

Glasgow Times:

Christine Beck said: "I weap for humanity, how do people not see that as racist. At least swg3 has a brain."

Others were less accepting of the measures.

Ryan Stevenson wrote: "Absolutely pathetic... management are obviously a bunch of k****."

Owen Whitelaw posted: "Pathetic, political correctness gone mad. Does not mean you're racist at all."

Steven Ramsay suggested that the measures were not strict enough, writing: "I'd extend this further. Cultural appropriation of any kind should also see the person refused entry."

The club, which is known for its diverse club nights, will be hosting a Pressure Halloween event on Friday October 27 and Mini Manoeuvres Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday October 28.
