COPS are deploying specialist units in the search for three missing people.

The force is still searching for Clydebank woman Karen Brown, who vanished over a week ago. Two further missing people cases have, however, opened with Shawlands man Daryl Howard vanishing on Friday and Maryhill woman Anna Denise Doyle disappearing on the same day.

All three cases remain a priority for the force, which has officers actively searching for the missing people.

A possible sighting in London of Karen Brown has given officers hope they might be able to trace the 47-year-old.

She was reported missing from her Clydebank home on Saturday, October 14.

It is understood she left her home on Kirkwood Avenue prior to her husband waking up around 7am on the day she vanished.

From enquiries carried out so far, there has been a confirmed sighting of Karen on CCTV at Buchanan Street Bus Station around 8.20am on the Saturday getting on a Mega Bus to London.

There has also been a potential sighting of Karen in the Hamleys toy store in London.

Karen is white, about 5ft 6in in height, of medium build, with collar length brown hair and hazel eyes.

When seen on CCTV at Buchanan Street Bus Station, she was wearing a pink fleece, blue jeans, white trainers and was carrying a green Asda bag for life.

The woman seen at Hamleys, who is believed to be Karen, was wearing a burgundy Puffa style jacket, blue jeans and white trainers, and was also carrying an Asda bag for life.

Meanwhile, Anne Denise Doyle, known as Denise, 53, has been missing for several days.

The missing woman, from Cumlodden Drive, was last seen leaving her mother’s house on Oran Place at around 9.30am on the day she vanished.

Police Scotland said they have deployed the force’s helicopter and dog unit in the search for the missing woman.

Denise is described as white, 5 ft 5 inches in height, of slim build and with brown eyes and dark greying hair which is tied up in a ponytail. She was wearing a black anorak, blue jeans and black fur trimmed boots.

Inspector Stevie Kinvig, of Maryhill Police Station, said: “We understand that Denise has been dealing with some personal issues at the moment which are causing her some concern, however, she has a close, supportive family who, as she has never been missing before, are worried about her.

“As both Denise and her mother live near the local canal, officers, including the Force Helicopter and Dog Unit, have been searching the area as well as around her home.

“Family and friends had been looking for her on Friday and Saturday but as there had been no contact from her they reported her missing to police around 5pm on Saturday evening.

“As far as we are aware, she does not have any money with her and the fact that she has not been in contact with anyone for two days makes us all concerned for her safety and well-being.”

A third missing person is Shawlands man Daryl Howard. He was seen leaving his home address in Mannering Court at around 4.05pm on Friday.

Since then the 26-year-old has failed to return to the property, nor has he been in contact with friends or family.

Concern is growing for his welfare and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Daryl is described as around 5ft 2in. He has black hair, a slim build and a scar on his face. He was wearing black jogging trousers, a black hooded top with possibly a red top underneath, white trainers and he was carrying a black backpack with white writing on it, Inspector James Mann said: “We are eager to trace Daryl as soon as possible, as we have concerns for his wellbeing and would urge anyone who knows his current whereabouts to contact police immediately.

“Daryl is also asked to get in touch with us or attend at a local police station so we can confirm his safety.”

Those with information regarding any of the cases, can contact Police Scotland via 101.
