FOOTBALLERS Kris Commons and John Gahagan, and Comedian Des Clarke had guests in stitches at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel for the Fleet Alliance Sporting Dinner and Fundraiser for Glasgow children’s charity A&M Scotland.

Some 400 guests laughed through former Motherwell left winger John Gahagan’s after dinner speech, as he made fun of his own career with Motherwell and Greenock Morton.

Ex-Celtic ace Commons charmed the audience with stories of his days at Parkhead and of Brendan Rodgers’ meticulous management style.

Clark, who hosted the event and has supported the charity for some years, kept the event running smoothly while mocking his fellow presenters and interviewees. The event raised a massive £18,000.

Paul Mitchell, A&M’s deputy chief executive, said: “We have had the best night and Fleet Alliance’s Sporting Dinner has raised a whopping £18,000 and everyone has had a right good laugh.”
