SCOT Squad star Chris Forbes will headline a charity comedy night in aid of Scottish Sports Futures (SSF).

The fundraiser will take place on Thursday, November 2 from 8pm at the Hard Rock Café in Glasgow.

Joining Chris, who plays countryside PC Charlie McIntosh, will be Mark Nelson, Scottish Comedian of the Year and Fringe regular; Billy Kirkwood who fronts Ayrshire’s West FM breakfast show; and Graham Stewart, a regular favourite on the comedy circuit.

Tickets cost £12 and are available from www.hardrock.com/cafes/glasgow.

Glasgow based charity SSF delivers nationwide sports development programmes to around 10,000 young people a year with a focus on those at risk and disadvantaged.

The programmes use the power of sport such as basketball, judo and rowing, to inspire young people to make positive lifestyle choices.

An ambassador for the charity, Chris was a talented basketball player and played for Scotland at junior and cadet level.

He also was a basketball coach and counsellor at Camp Moss Hollow in Washington DC supporting at-risk young people.

Chris said: “We’ve got a terrific line up with guaranteed laughs and offering a great night out, all for a really inspiring organisation.

“SSF does incredibly important work and I have seen first-hand how it can turn a young person’s life around.

“Their programmes really do work and are directly helping so many overlooked children.”

Pam Hunter, Chief Executive, SSF added: “We are indebted to Chris, Billy and Graham for their commitment and support which really means a lot to the charity. Chris is passionate about how sport can help young people in so many ways and we’re really lucky to have him on board.”
