The 22-year-old got the scrawl during a stag do in Ibiza over the summer.

On Thursday, beleaguered Portuguese coach Caixinha was told his time was up after chairman Dave King called an emergency board meeting to discuss the side’s alarming slide, calling to an end Caixinha’s seven-month reign.

Rangers have since vowed to take “as much time as necessary” in appointing a new boss and chiefs have admitted Caixinha had to go after they ran out of patience with his expensive flops.

In their statement announcing Caixinha’s departure, King and the rest of the board said: “Pedro was appointed in March this year but results have been disappointing and not commensurate with the level of investment that was made available.

“The priority is to appoint a new manager as quickly as possible, but the board will take as much time as is necessary to secure the right person capable of representing Rangers and providing the brand of football supporters rightly expect.”
