Celtic created another little bit of history under Brendan Rodgers as they equalled a century old record of 62 games unbeaten domestically.

However, a first-half injury to Patrick Roberts cast something of a shadow over the afternoon with the winger hobbling off in the opening period. Roberts headed straight up the tunnel and into the treatment room and it remains to be seen just what the exact nature of the injury is.

With Bayern Munich in attendance on Tuesday evening, however, Celtic will hope that it isn't as problematic as was initially feared.

Given the scintillating form of Wednesday night at Pittodrie, this one felt much flatter as Celtic had to settle for a share of the points.

Leigh Griffiths looked to have set Celtic on their way to another win with a goal shortly before the interval, a goal that was cancelled out by Jordan Jones.

In an opening period which Celtic dominated, they struggled nonetheless to create genuine openings.

With a glut of changes from the midweek win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie, it was left to Griffiths to open the scoring shortly before the interval when he collected from Kouassi who dinked the ball long for the striker to steer a volley into the net.

In all liklihood, it will be Moussa Dembele who returns for the visit of Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening at Celtic Park.

Griffiths and Dembele played together for the final 20 minutes of this outing after Rodgers went looking for the winner after Jordan Jones had brought Kilmarnock back into the game.

The Kilmarnock player had hit the post from distance but as the ball rebounded and Celtic failed to clear their lines, Jones was on hand with a left-foot effort that he dinked beyond the reach of Craig Gordon.

Celtic tried to find a way back into the game with Kristoffer Ajer pinging a long-range effort over the bar while Tom Rogic too tried his luck from distance.

Gordon, though, had to look sharp to get down to his near post to collect a Chris Burke effort while at the other end both Griffiths and Dembele had efforts.

The Parkhead side threw everything forward in the frantic final minutes but found Killie robust at the back.
