RANGERS PLAYER RATINGS

FODERINGHAM (6) Could do little about Kyle Lafferty’s stunning 25 yard opener for Hearts. But the keeper saved well from Ross Callachan shortly after and then from Harry Cochrane before half-time.

TAVERNIER (6) The right back was far livelier than he had been in the previous few outings – the Betfred Cup semi-final especially. Set up Kenny Miller for his second goal with a precise chip over the Hearts defence in the second half.

MCCRORIE (6) Gave away the free-kick which Kyle Lafferty netted the opening goal from when he hauled down Isma Goncalves in the 24th minute. That apart, the youngster was fine. Not that he was tested greatly.

WILSON (7) Did well considering it was his first appearance on over two months and his first start this season. Not at fault for the Hearts goal. Showed great composure on the ball and distributed it well.

JOHN (6) The on-loan Cardiff City left back failed to carve out any openings with his runs upfield. But he was untroubled defensively.

HOLT (7) Started against his former club in the centre of midfield. Helped to ensure that his team won the battle in the centre of the park and so controlled the game.

JACK (7) Took his place in the starting line-up after Rangers appealed against the red card which he picked up against Kilmarnock in midweek. Formed a good partnership with Holt.

CANDEIAS (6) The Portuguese winger couldn’t be faulted for effort. Had long-range shots saved by Jon McLaughlin in the 58th and 77th minutes. One of Pedro Caixinha’s signings who is definitely worth keeping.

MILLER (8) Showed no signs of rust despite his lengthy and well-publicised spell out of the team. His equaliser before half-time took a deflection off John Souttar. But he did well to get in position to shoot. Added a header in the second half and then set up Josh Windass for the third.

WINDASS (6) A quiet afternoon for the midfielder. But he took his goal well after being teed up with a defence-splitting pass by Miller.

MORELOS (7) Ran himself into the ground. Set up Miller for the equaliser with a perfectly-weighted pass into the Hearts area. Tested McLaughlin with a powerful shot at 3-1. Another worth keeping.

BARJONAS (3) Took over from Miller and enjoyed his run-out. HARDIE (3) Came on for Windass in the closing stages. HERRERA (2) Hardly involved after replacing Morelos.
