THE funeral of a popular young man who died in hospital after he was found badly injured on a Paisley street will take place today.

Friends and family of tragic Craig McClelland will say their final goodbyes at Woodside Crematorium at noon.

The father-of-three died in the Royal Alexandria Hospital in July. It is alleged he was stabbed to death in the Foxbar area of the town.

Craig was dad to Jacob, 5, Caleb, 2 and six-months old Elijah, and he also leaves behind his partner Stacey.

His Mother Florence Wilson previously said her heart was broken following the death of her son.

She said: "My wonderful, talented, funny, frustrating Craig would be blown away to know so many people care about him and for Stacey and the boys.

"My broken heart will never mend and my loss is overwhelming."

Well-wishers raised more than £5,000 for the funeral shortly after through an online campaign.

A 24-year-old man previously appeared in court in connection with the death and the case was continued.
