Firefighters and police are in attendance at a car on fire on a busy street in Kilwinning.
Police officers were asked to attend by fire crews at the scene on Almswall Road on Wednesdauy afternoon, reports the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald.
A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said: "About 1.20pm Police Scotland were contacted by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service advising their attendance at a car on fire on Almswall Road in Kilwinning.
"No persons were reported as being within the vehicle. Police officers are currently in attendance assisting with fire control."
A spokeswoman from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 1.20pm to reports of a car on fire at Almswall Road, Kilwinning.
“Operations Control immediately mobilised one fire appliance to the scene and firefighters used a powerful hose to extinguish the fire.
“The crew remains on scene ensuring the area is made safe.”
