AN UDDINGSTON cafe has launched an appeal for volunteers to help vulnerable people celebrate Christmas Day.

Jollytots and Cookies, on Old Mill Road, will open its doors to provide a  meal to anyone who is lonely, homeless, in the grip of an addiction or in need of some TLC.

The cafe, however, needs an army of volunteers to help with their event which will run from noon to 3pm.

In a statement, the cafe said: "Looking for some volunteers who are willing to join us on Christmas day to help provide a three course meal, gifts, entertainment, and hair and beauty treatments, to those who are in need of some TLC

"We aim to host this event for 70 guests. Anyone who is lonely, homeless, in the grip of addiction or in poverty are welcome to attend on Christmas day between 12 to 3.

"To enable us to succeed we require lots of willing volunteers from drivers to waiting staff - from entertainers to cooks."

To take part and find out more the cafe will have an open night on Tuesday, November 14 at 7pm.
