A MAN threatened to stab his cousin’s girlfriend throat after a booze fuelled night in.

Ian Donald was drinking at a property on Kennedar Drive on September 10, 2016, his cousin and their partner.

Around 3.40am there was a verbal altercation which prompted Donald, of Ledmore Drive in Drumchapel, to grab a large knife.

The 32-year-old then stated “I’m going to slit your throat then kill your girlfriend”.

Police were called to the scene and seen Donald running on the stairwell in possession of the knife.

Donald appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with carrying an offensive weapon.

His solicitor told the court that the group had been consuming alcohol before the argument kicked off but he has since abstained from drinking. Sheriff Gerard Bonnar ordered Donald to undergo 225 hours of unpaid work within nine months.
