An investigation has been launched after a pensioner died in a house fire.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at the property in Smollett Road, Dumbarton, at around 12.45am on Saturday.
Crews removed a 66-year-old man from the home, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 89-year-old woman from a neighbouring property was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
A joint investigation is under way between police and the fire service to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
