AN East Renfrewshire supermarket is set to close, putting dozens of jobs at risk.
Giffnock Whole Foods Market will be closed as part of plans by the US-owned firm.
The high end grocer which specialises in natural and organic produce opened in 2011 and has proved popular with shoppers.
The company said it was consulting with staff to close its shop in Giffnock, as well as another store in Cheltenham in England, with 150 jobs in total at risk.
Online retailer Amazon recently completed a £10.7bn takeover of the upmarket grocery chain.
In a statement, the company said: "A decision on the future of the stores will be made after the company has consulted with team members to discuss the proposal.
"In the event that the decision is taken to close the stores, we will work with team members to explore alternative employment opportunities.
"We remain committed to the UK market and will continue to look for ways to offer high-quality natural and organics to our customers."
Wholefoods was created on the site of the former Safeway store on Fenwick Road and includes a butcher, fishmonger, cheesemonger and a bakery.
