A DRUNKEN yob who tried to get into a bathroom while a woman was taking a shower has been sentenced to unpaid work.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Yahya Yaylaci admitted causing his victim fear and alarm by repeatedly striking the shower room door and continually pulling on the handle in an attempt to gain entry within an address in the city's Kelvinhaugh Street on June 19 last year.
The 20-year-old initially faced a number of allegations – including sexually assaulting three different women, however, those charges were dropped by the Crown.
Yaylaci's defence agent claimed that the remaining charge had no sexual element, therefore his client should not be put on the Sex Offenders' Register.
The lawyer stated: "This has been a stain on his character."
The sheriff agreed there was no sexual element to the accused's crime.
Yaylaci, of The Stables in Daviot, Aberdeenshire, was sentenced to a Community Payback Order with 160 hours of unpaid work to be completed within 12 months.
