COMIC-MANIA is set to hit Kilmarnock.

Killie Comic Con will roll to town next Saturday, November 18.

The day has a packed schedule of workshops, talks, quizzes and activities for all ages, from tots to adults, as well as a series of guest appearances from a number of world-famous comic and graphic novel writers and artists, including Alan Grant, Al Ewing, Tom Foster and David Baillie.

Also making an appearance will be Grado, TNA & ICW wrestling star and actor from Scot Squad and River City, and Rony Bridges from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Organiser, Ian Bonar, of Big Glasgow Comic Page, said: “We’re really looking forward to the Killie event.

“We’ve got some great talks with some iconic names from the world of comics, as well as workshops on everything from making balloon superheroes to special effects make-up, library sessions for young kids, a mobile cinema and Spy Quest.

“There’s been a lot of interest, and some of the workshops are already booked out.

“As well as the events, there will also be some recognisable characters such as Batman, Iron Man and Spider-Man, and if you come along in costume you could win a prize – we’ve got Rustworthy Cosplay, Lunacille Cosplay and Karadryel Cosplay as judges for our cosplay competitions.

“It’s a great time for Comic Con, with superhero and fantasy TV shows and films such as Star Wars, Wonder Woman, Thor and Game of Thrones now very firmly in the mainstream.”

The event, organised by Big Glasgow Comic Page in association with East Ayrshire Leisure, takes place from 10am-5pm at The Grand Hall and the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock. Entry is £1 per person, and under fives are free.
