The hotline set up at Holyrood for confidential reports of sexual harassment has received four calls in the first three days, it has been revealed.

The Parliament confirmed the number of calls made by 5pm on Wednesday.

The helpline was opened for staff and anyone working at Holyrood to report concerns or complaints of sexual harassment following the scandal engulfing Westminster and which since has led to the resignation of a Scottish Government minister.

Mark McDonald resigned as Childcare minister after complaints about inappropriate conduct towards a women.

He has been replaced with Maree Todd by the First Minister.

A parliament spokesman said other than revealing the number of calls made it would not divulge and further details on the nature of the calls.

The helpline is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
