Karren Brady has said she hopes the success of the women on the current series of The Apprentice will inspire hopeful female entrepreneurs.
The 48-year-old is Lord Sugar’s adviser on the BBC One show alongside Claude Littner, overseeing the contestants through their challenges.
But while this year’s female team – Team Vitality – have won the majority of tasks so far, their efforts have been marred by consistent rows.
Siobhan Smith and Sarah-Jayne Clark, who appeared to be at the centre of some of the arguments, have since been fired by Lord Sugar.
Asked if the team were providing positive role models, Baroness Brady told the Press Association: “I hope they are trying to.
“You have probably seen in the boardroom that I haven’t been overly happy with some of the behaviour, but at least they are doing well and they seemed to have calmed down.”
Baroness Brady’s comments came as she joined a litany of TV stars at the ITV Gala at the London Palladium on Thursday.
Also on the red carpet were some of the stars of ITV2’s summer reality TV hit Love Island.
“We did watch Love Island, we thought it was really good, a lot of fun,” Baroness Brady said.
Asked if she had considered taking part in any future reality shows herself, she said: “Next year there will be a show with me in, but I’m not allowed to give any details yet.”
