RESIDENTS in a Glasgow suburb were left without water for several hours yesterday after a water main burst.
Homes in Bishopbriggs in the area around Wester Cleddens Road had their supply cut from around eight in the morning on Sunday.
Scottish Water engineers investigated the disruption and found the fault in the supply to be in Pentland Drive.
Repairs were completed to the pipe and the water supply restored to homes in the area early in the afternoon.
A number of homes in several streets in the vicinity are believed to have been affected by the loss of water following the burst.
Scottish Water apologised to affected customers for the loss of supply.
Householders complained of discoloured water one the supply was restored.
Scottish Water said it was the result of turbulence in the pipes and possibly air getting in while repairs were carried out.
Residents were advised to run their cold water kitchen taps at half pressure until the water ran clear.
