THE heartbroken sister of a teenager who died at the weekend has paid tribute to her 'baby brother'.

Gary Keenan, 19, was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning after becoming unwell at a house in Airdrie.

He, however, died after arriving at the Lanarkshire town's Monklands Hospital.

Police Scotland said they are treating the death as unexplained.

His heartbroken sister Sophie shared images of the pair as kids on the social media website facebook.

She said: "Never thought I’d have to say goodbye to my baby brother at the age of 19. You will be missed more than words can describe. Rest in peace my angel."

Another friend described the teenager as an "amazing wee guy".

Natalie Stewart said: "Can't believe this is real but RIP Gary Keenan. You were an amazing wee guy, always laughing and full of daftness.

"You were loved by so many and will be missed forever. Rest in peace wee man."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 12.55am on Sunday, November 11, police were called to a report of a man taken ill within a house in Hillview, Greengairs, Airdrie.

“The 19 year-old was taken by ambulance to Monklands District General hospital but died a short time later.

“A post mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however it is currently being treated as unexplained.”
