A GOVAN man who bombarded a woman with unwanted messages has been ordered to stay away from his victim.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Bartolmiej Kupisz pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct that caused his former flatmate fear and alarm by repeatedly sending unwanted emails and Facebook messages between April 5, 2016 and May 10, 2017.
The fiscal depute explained that the pair's friendship broke down when the accused wanted to pursue a sexual relationship when the complainer did not. The woman moved out of the flat, however Kupisz continued to send unwelcome messages.
The matter was reported to the police, to which the accused admitted his behaviour.
In defence, it was highlighted that the 38-year-old did not write anything sexual or threatening – the messages were more so to maintain contact with the woman.
The lawyer added that it was more "stupid rather than anything else".
Kupisz, of Rathlin Street, was sentenced to a Community Payback Order with supervision for 12 months. A Non-Harassment Order was also put in place for a year.
