A CAR has crashed into a pole after it appeared to undertake a bus in Glasgow city centre.

The car was travelling along Renfrew Street after 3pm when it collided with the number seven First Bus before the turn into Renfield Street.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but it appears no one has been injured.

A street pole outside the Pavilion Theatre has however bent onto the road upon impact.

One appliance from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and city centre cops remain at the scene.

One horrified onlooker said: "It was amazing no one was standing there. That is a very busy road junction."

A First Glasgow spokesman said: “We can confirm that a First Glasgow bus has been involved in a collision with a car at the junction of Renfrew Street and Renfield Street on Tuesday.

“First Glasgow is assisting the police with their investigation into the circumstances of the incident.”
