A TEENAGER who caused havoc in a gym after drinking almost two bottles of wine has been sentenced to some hard graft.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Marco McDade admitted kicking off in Xercise4Less near Sauchiehall Street on July 21 this year.

The fiscal depute told the court that the 19-year-old was asked by the gym workers why he was there. The accused turned nasty and threatened: "Do you want a bullet through your skull? Come outside and I'll stab you."

On his way out, McDade branded two of the employees "P**i b*****ds".

His defence lawyer explained that alcohol played a large part. She stated that after drinking one-and-a-half bottles of wine, the accused "had no business going into a gym in that state".

The teen also pleaded guilty to losing his rag at the Council for Homeless Young People youth hostel in Wilton Street on October 1 this year.

McDade, who had been living within the supported accommodation, turned up intoxicated. He became aggressive and began to shout and swear at two support workers.

He threatened: "I'm going to get you done in."

The police were called when the accused refused to leave.

McDade was sentenced to a Community Payback Order with supervision for 12 months and 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within four months. He was also handed a Restriction of Liberty Order, whereby he will have to remain indoors between 10pm and 7am for two months.
