A DRUNK kicked a paramedic who was trying to get him up off the ground.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Alan Gribbin admitted lashing out at two emergency workers in Kemp Street on December 22 last year.
The fiscal depute told the court that it was around 2pm when the paramedics were called to attend to the accused, who was lying on the ground intoxicated.
The duo attempted to put Gribbin onto a carry chair to transport him into the ambulance, however the 48-year-old began to act in an aggressive manner. As well as shouting at the workers, he kicked out and hit the male paramedic on the arm.
The police were then called for assistance.
In defence it was claimed that the accused had an issue with alcohol and was socially isolated at the time of the incident.
Gribbin, of Mansel Street in Springburn, was sentenced to a Community Payback Order with supervision for 12 months and 75 hours of unpaid work to be completed within three months.
