FORMER Brighton and Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has expressed interest in the Rangers vacancy.
Sport Times revealed exclusively a fortnight ago that the Uruguayan had put his name forward as a potential replacement for the sacked Pedro Caixinha.
And the 49-year-old has now told the Daily Star that he would consider the job, but admitted there has been no contact from the Gers yet.
He said: “I would [be interested in the Rangers job].
“Nobody has called me and nobody has said anything but it is one of the jobs I would be interested in.”
Poyet has been out of work since leaving Chinese club Shanghai Shenua in September.
The former Chelsea and Tottenham midfielder previously led Brighton to the League One title and Championship play-offs, before guiding Sunderland to the League Cup final and 14th place in the Premier League.
He has since had spells with AEK Athens and Real Betis before one season in China.
