A CELEBRITY lunch will be held next month to raise funds for a vital head injury service.

It is one of a number of festive events organised by leading social care charity Quarriers.

On December 1, comedian Fred MacAulay will host an auction and entertain guests in the Glasgow Marriott Hotel at the charity’s annual Noel lunch.

It is the charity’s flagship event which over the years has raised more than £1million to help deliver and develop its life-changing services.

This year, money raised will support Quarriers’ head injury service based in Renfrewshire which helps people aged between 17 and 64.

Charity chief executive Alice Harper said: “Quarriers’ head injury service works with those directly affected as well as their families and carers, providing practical and emotional support to help people come to terms with their condition and cope with daily life.”

Phil Genoe, chairman of the lunch committee, said the event kicked off the festive season. He added: “It raises funds which really make a difference to the lives of so many. I am thrilled to be part of what is set to be another spectacular Noel lunch.”
