DETECTIVES have arrested a man in connection with an alleged serious assault in Port Glasgow a week ago.
As reported by the Greenock Telegraph, the 29-year-old suspect is accused of punching and kicking a dog walker in Castlehill Avenue at 10.30pm last Saturday night.
Greenock CID today said that the man - who is being detained in police custody ahead of a court appearance on Monday - may also face charges under dangerous dog legislation.
The alleged victim, a 43-year-old man, is said to have required stitches for head injuries that he suffered.
