Glasgow’s hugely-popular Christmas lights switch-on event is set to take place in George Square this evening.
Despite a hoax Facebook page claiming the event is cancelled the big event is still set to go ahead.
Around 16,000 lucky ticket-holders will descend onto the area and its surrounding areas to soak up the festivities.
There will be two entry points open from 5pm and will close at 6.45pm before the fireworks light up the sky.

Those without a ticket won’t be able to come to George Square.
Due to a fall in popularity in recent years, the ice rink has been replaced with a Christmas market.
The Big Wheel and traditional carousel will also make a welcomed return.
But, while families enjoy themselves, as expected, drivers are being warned of travel disruption and road closures ahead of the weekend.
