ALTHOUGH it may be winter, this hasn't stopped an ice cream parlour from offering a new range of alcoholic flavours.

Soave's Ice Cream based in Muirhead near Glasgow has launched some fresh flavours ahead of the festive season.

Their latest creations include a prosecco and gin flavoured sorbet, which the award-winning ice cream makers think will be perfect for Christmas and New Year.

Their choices are constantly evolving with previous offerings including the whisky based Cranachan ice cream, as well as more traditional flavours.

This comes after The Evening Times reported that the 'first alcoholic cakes in Scotland’ hit shelves a few weeks ago.

Baker Rebecca Henderson from Strathaven - who runs Cakes By Rebecca Ltd - launched Strongbow, prosecco and strawberry and MD 20/20 three-layer flavour cakes.
