A YOUNG Hoops fan was delighted after his hero showed up to his birthday party following an online campaign.
Leigh Griffiths kept his word after promising to attend a youngster's bash today, after a woman reached out to him on Twitter.
The Celtic striker yesterday scored a free-kick which gave his side a 1-0 victory against Ross County in Dingwall.
Following his training this morning, as the team look ahead to play Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday, Griffiths stopped by the party of the young fan.
Family friend Gemma Love got in touch with the Scottish international on Twitter in October asking him to Luca’s birthday bash.
One of my best pals wee boys birthdays, all he wants is for @Leighgriff09 to show up at his party 🙈😭😭!! Fancy giving him a shout 🙈💚!!

The striker replied saying he had messaged the dad of the little boy, which must have been a success as Griffiths showed up to the party today.

Gemma posted a photo of her and the Hoops star on social media along with the caption: "Guy really is a class act stuck to his word after our twitter campaign to get him to Luca's birthday party.
"Thank you so much xxxx."

Gemma told the Evening Times: "It only started as a request on Twitter for a close friend's son as the only thing he asked for his birthday was for Leigh to go to his party so myself and a friend chanced our arm asking him to come along.
"The Celtic support got behind it and before we knew it Leigh reached out to Luca's dad to arrange coming to the party and making Luca's day. We never told Luca he would be attending in case he wasn't able to but seeing his face light up was worth it and he also made a lot of other boys' and girls' day too as he visited a party of children next to Luca's who were chanting his name as soon as they recognised him."
