An investigation has been launched after three men barged their way into a flat in Hamilton and robbed the occupant at knifepoint.

A 26-year-old man was within his home in Ann Street on Sunday November 19 around 1am when he answered the door.

Three men then pushed their way in and demanded money.

One of the suspects threatened the man with a knife and repeatedly demanded money before the three men searched the flat and left a short time later with the victim's watch and keys.

Following the incident to man ran from the flat and flagged down a local taxi - a blue Citroen Berlingo - on Glasgow Road.

The three suspects are described as all white, in their mid 30s and around 6ft in height.

The first suspect was wearing a black tracksuit, the second a navy coloured tracksuit and the third a white t-shirt and dark coloured jogging trousers.
