FIVE hundred people have been hired by Glasgow Fort to cope with Christmas demand.
The new recruits join more than 3500 permanent employees, with two thirds said to come from the local area.
Phil Goodman, centre director, said: “The Christmas spirit is already under way at Glasgow Fort and it is fantastic to welcome so many new team members to our stores and restaurants.
“Appointing extra staff to cope with demand is so important at this time of year.
“We expect to have a very busy Christmas. With stores open until 10pm on weekdays and thousands of free parking spaces, we are making it easier for customers to enjoy the festivities here at Glasgow Fort.”
