A man has been left with a facial injury after being assaulted in a city centre bar.

The 50-year-old man was in the Hall Pub on Sauchiehall Street on Tuesday November 21 when became involved in an altercation with another man who assaulted him.

Following the incident around 10.25pm, the suspect left the pub in the company of a blonde woman.

Emergency services were called and the victim was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a facial injury and was released the next morning.

The suspect is described as white, between 25 and 35 years old, around 5ft 8 in height with short brown hair.

He was wearing a short sleeved white polo shirt, light coloured jeans and white trainers.

Detective Constable Paul Houston said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the Hall Pub last night and saw the assault take place to please come forward to assist our investigation.

“In particular, we would like to speak to a woman who called the bar around 20 minutes after the incident to check on the victim’s welfare.

"We believe she may have been witnessed what happened and it is vital that she gets in touch with us.
