THE first headliner has been revealed for Glasgow festival TRNSMT ... Liam Gallagher.

The festival returns to Glasgow Green next year for two weekends and bosses have revealed Liam will headline on Saturday, June 30.

He will be joined by fellow British stars Courteeners, Wolf Alice and J Hus.

Geoff Ellis, Head of DF Concerts, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to announce TRNSMT 2018’s line-up – all four bands are testament to the brilliant British music scene right now and will offer an amazing day of music for TRNSMT fans on June 30.

“It’s set to be a brilliant summer of music.

"We’re bringing some of the best world-class artists to Glasgow Green, with many more exciting announcements still to come."

TRNSMT Festival will take over Glasgow Green from June 29 to July 1 then July 6 to 8.

Pre-sale tickets go up for grabs next Wednesday, November 29, with general sale on offer from December 1.

TRNSMT will be Liam's biggest ever solo show in Scotland with promises of songs from his own work and from the Oasis back catalogue of classics.

Having played Glastonbury this summer, the Manchester rocker also picked up two Q awards this year as well as having sell out shows around the world.

Liam was pictured with fans recently at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, where Oasis were first discovered in the 90s, as he was in Glasgow to film a music video at the famous venue.

Courteeners played the biggest show of their career this year - a 50,000 strong gig at Manchester’s Old Trafford cricket ground.

Wolf Alice are fresh from two sold-out shows at the Barrowland Ballroom as well as celebrating award nominations by Ivor Novello, Brit and The Grammys.

English grime artist, four-time MOBO nominated singer and breakthrough star of today’s rap scene J Hus completes the line up announcement.

This year's TRNSMT, which is shortlisted for three UK Festival awards, saw performances from headliners Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro.

Geoff added: "TRNSMT’s outstanding audience in July this year showed the world why TRNSMT should be central to the festival music calendar.

"Much like in 2017, TRNSMT will showcase some of the best up and coming talent in the UK, mixed with world-class artists so stay tuned as there’s so much more to come."
