EMERGENCY crews rushed to a suspected gas leak at a house in Kilmacolm in the middle of the night.
The drama unfolded after a 75-year-old woman burst her gas meter box and injured her arm while trying to start her car at 2am this morning.
As reported by the Greenock Telegraph, Port Glasgow fire chief David McGinley told how the woman also ended up in hospital with arm injuries.
The watch manager said: “She went to start her car but had left it in gear. "When she leaned in and turned the key it lurched forward, hitting the domestic meter box. She also has a suspected broken arm.
“Crews thought there was a gas leak caused by the collision as well.”
Police, fire and ambulance all attended the incident at Whitelea Road in Kilmacolm.
