Evening Times columnist Michelle McManus has shared hilarious details about the moments leading up to her Highland wedding and spoken about online trolls in a TV interview.
Appearing on ITV’s Loose Women this afternoon, she also performed a cover of Paul McCartney’s 1984 hit ‘We All Stand Together’, a Christmas charity single she features on.

The former Pop Idol winner tied the knot with other half Jeff Nimmo in the Highlands after a two-year romance in September.
When asked about her family traveling to Mallaig, Michelle said: “It was six hours on the train.

“I went to ScotRail and said, ‘Can we buy a couple of carriages?’
“I know what my crowd are like going up and I didn’t want any random, American tourists bumping into my family on the way up and thinking this is the way people travel in Scotland.”

When asked by Saira Khan about unkind comments Michelle has received throughout her career and how she has dealt with them, she responded: “You’re not naive to think you’re not a size 20-plus woman. You won’t go on telly and think no-one will notice you are a big, heavy girl.
“You can never control what people think, it doesn’t matter. You can be the thinnest or the most beautiful person in the world, but you cannot control what other people say and how they’ll view you, especially on social media. What’s the point?
“People will always have their opinions and you just need to let it go.”
She also urged people to be kind and said: “Treat people the way you want to be treated.”

Writing in her weekly column for the Evening Times last week, the 37-year-old said of her comeback single: “I really hope both the single and the album do really well and that we raise lots and lots of money for some incredible charities.
