RANGERS players paid a visit to the Royal Hospital for Children to present a cheque for £10,000.

The cash has funded Christmas decorations for the wards and a donation has been made to the Schiehallion Appeal, which aims to help kids beat cancer.

Members of the Light Blues squad spent time with children and their families on Tuesday afternoon.

Players signed autographs for young fans and handed out teddy bears to help bring some festive cheer to the hospital.

Connal Cochrane, Director of the Rangers Charity Foundation, said: “The Schiehallion Appeal will help to give children with cancer the very best chance of survival and recovery, so we are proud to be able to contribute to this initiative, as well as continuing our tradition of helping to spread some festive cheer over the Christmas period.”

The Gers’ Under-17 and Under-20 squads recently joined club and Charity Foundation staff to help decorate the wards.

And Kirsten Sinclair, Director of Fundraising at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, is pleased to have the support of Rangers once again this year.

She said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Rangers Charity Foundation and the players for their steadfast support.

“This generous donation will make such a difference to our young patients and their families during very difficult times, and the hospital now looks fantastic for the festive season.”
