Roads across the city are set to be closed to make way for Santa.
The annual Santa Dash will shut a number of roads to traffic and suspend some bus services today.
The measures got underay at 5am and will be in place until 4pm.
Thousands of runners are expected to descend on the streets for the popular event.
More than 7,500 took part in the popular 5k run last year - the biggest to date.
The Santa Dash has raised more than £200,000 for various charities since it 'hit the streets' in 2006.
All money raised from this year's run will go towards the Beatson Cancer Charity.
