A man is being treated for stab wounds after being attacked in Lanark.
The 56-year-old man walked outside a house in Smyllum Road around 6pm on Wednesday 7 December when he was approached by a man who seriously assaulted him.
He was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital where his condition is being treated as serious but stable.
The suspect responsible is described as white, 5’8 in height and of slim build.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing dark coloured clothing with his face covered, possibly a hooded top.
Detective Constable Gary Lipscombe of Wishaw Police Office is appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information to contact Wishaw Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 2823 of 6 December 2017.
