A disabled man was attacked in the city centre by a woman he had been in the company of.

The 48-year-old man, who walks with the aid of a zimmer frame, was standing outside an ATM outside Tesco on Argyle Street, near to its junction with West Campbell Street on November 25, when the incident took place.

The woman who he had been in the company of, demanded money and assaulted him around 11.40pm.

He left with a leg injury and had to be treated to Glasgow Royal Infirmary before being released.

The woman responsible is described as white, around 40 years of age and of medium build with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing dark clothing with an over the shoulder bag.

Detective Constable Vicky Martin of City Centre Police Office said: “Officers have been carrying out enquiries and checking CCTV footage to identify the woman responsible, however I would ask any witnesses to this attack to contact City Centre Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0030 of November 26.
