GLASGOW’S parks were transformed into a winter wonderland as temperatures dipped to below freezing and some parts of the UK were hit with heavy snowfall.
The wintry conditions led to travel disruption for road, rail and air passengers across the country.
While the Scottish airports remained operational there was a knock-on effect from the adverse weather in England, prompting cancellations and leaving aircraft and crews in the wrong locations.
Glasgow Airport chiefs said there were a total of 17 cancellations caused by snow south of the border.
Drivers were today being warned to expect some hazardous early morning conditions across the West of Scotland.
A Meteogroup spokesman said: “A cold start to the day could see some freezing fog.
“It will stay below freezing in the morning, around -3C, with a maximum temperature of 4C during the day.
“Wednesday will be quite windy with heavy showers and there may be some sleet and hail mixed in.”
