ADVERSE weather conditions brought operations at Glasgow Airport to a halt.
Rainfall in below zero temperatures forced the temporary closure of the city airport.
Following the announcement that flights would be delayed or diverted, the airport has now said that it is fully operational despite adverse conditions.
Airport staff worked to de-ice the runways before flights were given the go-ahead.
Teams are now working to reduce the impact of diversions and delays on passengers.
Some flights which were due to arrive have been diverted to Glasgow Prestwick and Edinburgh Airport.
Passengers on those flights are to be taken back to Glasgow by bus.
Glasgow Airport tweeted out a list of those flights effected.
The following flights have been diverted due to adverse weather conditions. Please contact your airline for further information. pic.twitter.com/XjexbEClsg

A Glasgow Airport spokesman said: "Adverse weather conditions are temporarily disrupting operations. Please check with your airline for updates."
They have since added that the airport is now fully operational.
Frustrated stranded travellers took to Twitter after learning the news.
Tell me this, is it not better to scatter a surface with whatever they use to prevent ice BEFORE it happens, rather than wait until it freezes?? couldn't run a ménage!!

Yes but why shove us on a plane when nothing was taking off? I understand why we aren't taking off and appreciate the staff out in cold.
