A TEEN has been arrested following a raid at a plush Glasgow store.
The 18-year-old allegedly swiped designer bags from Gucci at House of Fraser on Buchanan Street on Tuesday afternoon before he was pursued by security staff.
It is understood that police officers became involved in the chase and they caught up with him at the nearby Christmas markets on St Enoch's Square.
It is alleged that the teen pointed a crossbow at the officers.
The teenager has been arrested and detained in police custody, and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “An 18-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody following an alleged theft by shoplifting from House of Fraser on Buchanan Street, Glasgow, around 2.40pm on Tuesday.
“He has also been arrested for allegedly being in possession of an offensive weapon.
“A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
