Another homegrown Glasgow artist has been added to the TRNSMT line-up for 2018.

Man of the moment Gerry Cinnamon will be returning to the Glasgow Green stage on Saturday June 30, it has been announced.

Gerry will be returning for his second consecutive performance at the festival after attracting one of the biggest crowds of the weekend at the King Tut's stage in 2017.

He joins an already massive Saturday line-up which includes Liam Gallagher, The Courteeners and Wolf Alice.

The Castlemilk performer has one of the biggest cult followings of recent times and has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame off the back of just a few singles.

His debut album Erratic Cinematic reached the number one spot in the iTunes singer/songwriter chart with no more than a social media post for promotion earlier this year.

Gerry is now getting ready to play two massive sold-out gigs on the famous Barrowlands stage next week.

The first gig sold out in just 60 minutes, the second in less than 60 seconds and will see the local singer reach a defining phase in his career.

He also recently won the Great Scot Award for Entertainment following in the footsteps of Paolo Nutini and Kevin Bridges.

Speaking after the announcement, Gerry said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to come back to TRNSMT in 2018.

"It was one of my highlights of the summer last year and I can’t wait to play some new tunes for everyone. Bring it on!”
