THERE is no doubt that Graeme Murty has made an impact on the Rangers squad and that he is getting more out of the players than Pedro Caixinha did.
But one thing I would like to see change is how the players refer to him. Every time they give an interview, they call him ‘Graeme’ or ‘Murts’.
Well, he is the boss. He might only be in interim charge, but he gets the praise when things go right and he gets the blame when things go wrong. He is doing the training and picking the team, so he is the gaffer.
I don’t know if Graeme would feel embarrassed if the players called him ‘gaffer’ because he is the Under-20 coach.
But I think the players should be told by someone at the club, not by Graeme, that when they are talking to the media he is addressed as ‘gaffer’ or ‘the manager’ and not Murts. Give him the respect that he is due.
