A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after he was hit by a car in Greenock.
The 54-year-old was struck by a red Renault Clio car on Container Way, near the entrance to the Tesco car park, at around 4pm on Friday.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he is said to be in a critical condition.
The 55-year-old driver was uninjured but she was left badly shaken, according to police.
Officers are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dash cam footage of it, to come forward.
