Two men have pled guilty to offences including abduction and assault involving the use of knives and a handgun.

Zak Bennett and Gary Roxburgh, both 26, appeared at Glasgow High Court on Friday, December 15 where they both pled guilty to offences.

The offences took place on Sunday, June 18 and Monday, June 20 in locations including the Netherburn area of Lanarkshire and the Maryhill area of Glasgow.

The two male victims were aged 24 and 31 years.

Bennett and Roxburgh are due to be sentenced at Glasgow High Court on January 16, next year.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Jamieson of Police Scotland Specialist Crime Division said: “Bennett and Roxburgh are extremely dangerous individuals and we welcome the fact that they have been brought to justice for the serious crimes that they were involved in, and the sickening acts of violence that they subjected their victims to after abducting them.

“We are determined to target anyone involved in serious and organised crime and will relentlessly target those involved in such criminality as this has a huge impact on the local community.

“This was a detailed and complex investigation with several officers dedicated to this enquiry who were assisted by a number of specialist departments. I like to thank those who worked on this investigation for their commitment to this case.”
