Castlemilk born artist Gerry Cinnamon performed the first of his long-awaited headline gigs at Glasgow's Barrowlands last night.

The Glasgow, who has a cult following in the city, played to the packed venue which sold out in a matter of hours.

His debut album Erratic Cinematic reached the number one spot in the iTunes singer/songwriter chart with no more than a social media post for promotion earlier this year.

He also recently won the Great Scot Award for Entertainment following in the footsteps of Paolo Nutini and Kevin Bridges.

The star took to Twitter following his debut gig to praise his hometown and thank his fans for being the best crowd.

Gerry said: "Never seen, heard or felt anything like it.

"Body's ringing like a bell. Loop pedal melted. Broke my guitar. Bust my eardrum. All worth it.

"Best venue in the world Best crowd in the world Take a bow @TheBarrowlands Saturdays gny be wild c u sn x."

Gerry's second sold-out gig is set to kick off this evening.

Any fans dissapointed at missing out on Barrowlands tickets can see the homegrown star perform on Saturday, June 30 at next year's TRNSMT festival.
