EASTWOOD Park Theatre in Giffnock will celebrate its 45th anniversary at the start of 2018, with a host of diverse and dynamic performances lined up.

The theatre has been entertaining audiences since its doors opened on January 8, 1973, with the first live performance being The Schoolmistress by Giffnock Players’ Club.

Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “We’re celebrating 45 years of Eastwood Park Theatre bringing entertaining performances to the local area and being such a big part of our community.

“We offer a wide range of shows to suit all ages, from drama and dance to tribute acts and comedy. We also have great kids’ shows and films, as well as our sell-out pantomime performances at Christmas.”

Highlights of the first half of the sapphire anniversary programme include Glasgow’s only date of the renowned The Wedding Reception, an interactive comedy dining experience where the audience become guests at a surprise wedding as well as a musical journey through the life of Burns with Ae Fond Kiss, comedy with former River City star Gary Lamont and Shakespeare's MacBeth brought to life by two actors.

For the kids, the theatre has lined up the Little Mix Experience for fans of the biggest girl band in the UK right now, while younger theatre fans can catch the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, brought by the creative team behind the hugely popular Hairy Maclary Show.

The theatre's special group offer – buy 10 tickets and someone can go for free – is available for most performances. Book now via www.eastwoodparktheatre.co.uk/boxoffice
