THREE people have been arrested after police allegedly seized more than £600,000 worth of drugs.
Acting on intelligence, police stopped a transit van on the M74 on Friday and recovered what is believed to be herbal cannabis worth an estimated street value of £300,000. Two men, aged 21 and 43, were arrested in connection with the seizure. As part of their investigations, officers acting under warrant also searched a property in Albion Street, Coatbridge. They discovered what is believed to be cocaine, worth an estimated street value of £325,000. A 46-year-old woman was arrested in connection with alleged drugs offences.
All three appeared at Lanark Sheriff Court on Saturday. None of them entered a plea and they were all released on bail.
